Cross Country

The Cross-Country running team is for boys and girls in grades 5 – 8. Practices are held after school on Mondays and Fridays from dismissal until 4:15. The team goes on 2 mile runs around the SMSH neighborhood with the coaches. The team competes in the RI Catholic Athletic League (CAL) and meets are held on Wednesdays in Rhode Island. The Cross-Country season is from the start of the school year until the end of October. The team is coached by parent volunteers who are certified by CAL.

Basketball

A competitive basketball experience offered to boys’ teams and girls’ teams in grades 4 – 8 during the fall/winter. Games are played at various locations in the area.

The coaching staff is comprised of interested parents donating their time and talents to weekly games and practices. In addition to basketball skills, both coaches and fans teach players the value of sportsmanship, teamwork and fair play.

Intramural Basketball

Available to grades K-3, this after school activity provides students with a fun way to learn the basic skills of basketball and good sportsmanship. A parent volunteer, with the assistance of grade 6-8 students, provides staffing for this activity.

Volleyball

A competitive volleyball experience offered to boys and girls in grades 6-8 in the spring. Teams are co-ed and multi-grade. Games are played at various locations in the area.

The coaching staff is comprised of interested parents donating their time and talents to weekly games and practices.

Track and Field

The Spring Track Team is offered to boys and girls in grades 4 – 8. Weekly practices are held at Bishop Feehan High School’s track. The team does not participate in a competitive league but has informal track meets with the North Attleboro Middle School, Attleboro YMCA Jaguars, and some MA parochial schools such as St. John’s and St. Mary’s.

Track members compete in various field events including the shot put, discus and long jump. Running events include sprints (100M, 200M and 400M) and middle distance (800M and the mile) as well as team relays. The season runs from mid-April until June.

The team is coached by parent volunteers with experience in track and field or have an enthusiasm for running.

Soccer

This is the first year of our official Soccer program!  It is offered to boys and girls in grades 4 – 8 in two different co-ed divisions (Juniors and Grammar). Weekly practices are held, currently, at the North Attleboro YMCA. The team participates in CAL and competes against teams throughout Rhode Island.
