Why our parents love SMSH!
- Starting from the youngest Little Saints in Pre-K, the teachers and staff at Saint Mary-Sacred Heart School have helped my children to grow academically and in their faith. I am so impressed with how much they learn each year and their teachers’ dedication to each student. The traditions in each grade build a strong community, from the first graders sharing about their favorite saint on All Saints Day to fourth grade’s moving presentation of the Stations of the Cross. My children feel supported in this welcoming community and they love participating in the many extra opportunities for enrichment, athletics, and school wide events. SMSH has been the perfect place for my two oldest children to learn and we are so excited for our youngest child to start his SMSH journey next year!
- SMSH has been a wonderful school for my daughter. The family community within SMSH has been great for our family – both inside and outside of the school environment. The teachers and staff love what they do! We love SMSH!
- I received the gift of a SMSH education from my parents. As a 1999 graduate, the nine years I spent at Saint Mary-Sacred Heart School laid the foundation for the person I am today. That foundation is built on core values like community, kindness, responsibility, Stewardship, generosity, gratitude, and most of all, it nurtured my relationship with Jesus and deep love for my Catholic faith. Simply put, the red brick building became a second home. It is because of this that my husband and I made the decision to gift our three children the same education that I was afforded. This financial investment for them, something we are incredibly blessed to be able to do, has been so rewarding as we watch them begin their own SMSH stories and experience all of the traditions, old and new. What has not changed after all these years is that Saint Mary-Sacred Heart School continues to set the standard on what Catholic education should be- striving for excellence with Jesus Christ at the forefront.
- Our two children have been at SMSH for 6 years and we couldn’t be happier with our experiences. We have been most impressed by the opportunities for public speaking as well as confidence-building leaders
hip opportunities. The small school and big sense of community has been so beneficial for our children.
- Now in their late twenties, our sons are most grateful for the kind guidance they both received beginning in kindergarten with Mrs. Stathakis. Each teacher treated them with respect and compassion. The teachers at SMSH truly approach their work as a vocation and it showed in their dedication, commitment and joy that they brought to their students. Learning was fun and engaging. As a result they grew in confidence and learned the skills and knowledge that set them up for a successful high school and college careers.
- ” As a college prep high school teacher, I had the privilege of teaching a number of SMSH graduates over the years. The SMSH students were easily recognizable: they embraced challenges; they were innovative in their thinking and their work; and they were noted for their courtesy that was rooted in a strong moral character. Because of the kind of students they were, they made my teaching experience a joy.”
- “Ask any parents of a SMSH student what motivated them to choose the school, and the answer is invariably, “We wanted the very best for our children.” And their wish is fulfilled in the remarkable work done by a community of educators who are committed to the highest standards of the profession. And if that were not enough, we have the data that highlights the advantages of a Catholic education. It would seem to me that the bottom-line question for any parent of a school age child who is considering SMSH is not “Why?” but rather “Why not?”
- I first transferred to SMSH at the beginning of middle school, terrified about what the future would hold and even more wary about change. Through this experience, though, I was able to meet some of the most caring classmates who welcomed me immediately, and so many teachers who made me feel like I belonged. I truly cannot thank SMSH enough for all of the opportunities I have been given and all of the relationships I have built that have shaped me into the person I am today.
