Teacher Nominations

The goal of a Catholic education is to go beyond knowledge and skills. Rather, it opens the mind, transforms the heart, and ignites the soul. 

In May 2025, the Diocese of Fall River celebrated its dedicated faculty and staff by inviting parents from each school to share words of appreciation for the incredible educators and support teams who make a difference every day.

At St. Mary-Sacred Heart School, we are proud to recognize our SMaSHing Staff—a name that reflects the strength, spirit, and heart they bring to our community. Below are just a few of the heartfelt testimonies shared by parents, highlighting the lasting impact our team has had on their children and families:

Mrs. Ahearn

What an amazing Pre-K teacher Mrs. Ahearn is! The engaging activities and meaningful learning experiences she has provided our son this year have truly been a blessing. We are absolutely ecstatic that he had such a dedicated and nurturing teacher to help lay the foundation for his future education at SMSH. Thank you, Mrs. Ahearn, for making his first school year so special!Your patience, creativity, and genuine love for teaching have not only helped our son grow—but have also given us confidence and joy as parents watching him thrive.

Mrs. Cassidy

Mrs. Cassidy has endless enthusiasm for her 1st grade students! We are amazed at how much our son is learning and we are grateful for Mrs. Cassidy’s encouragement and guidance.

Mrs. Moura

We are thankful for Mrs. Moura’s dedication to our kindergarten students. She creates lessons that keep students engaged and having fun, while instilling the values of our Catholic faith. We are grateful to have such kind and compassionate teachers, like Mrs. Moura, that encourage a love of faith and learning!

Mrs. Daniels

We are so thankful to have such an amazing second grade teacher, Mrs. Daniels, at SMSH! Her dedication to hands-on learning brings every lesson to life, making each day exciting and engaging for her students. Through her creativity, kindness, and passion for teaching, she inspires a genuine love of learning in every child she teaches. She has gone over and beyond teaching our daughter who started SMSH this year and we are beyond grateful for her. Thank you, Mrs. Daniels, for all you do!

Mrs. Wojes

We would like to nominate, most especially to recognize, Mrs Wojes of SMSH’ Grade 3 Classroom. My daughter was new to SMSH this year; what could have been a very difficult transition for her, was instead an amazing and easy transition she settled very quickly to! She settled right in, as though she had been with her teacher for years! I can not express our thanks and gratitude enough for Mrs Wojes’s commitment and dedication to her job!  She was the PERFECT Teacher for my daughter and her transition to SMSH. We are very pleased with the level of academic achievement and growth that we have seen in our daughter in such a short time, and We own it all to Mrs Wojes! She is such a tremendous asset to the SMSH community and to my Family! Her daily high-fives, hugs, encouraging words, and friendly chats are welcoming for students – from PreK to 8th grade. Whether she’s helping a child with a backpack or offering a smile and encouragement, she truly radiates kindness. While she was a great third-grade teacher to our children, what stands out most is how she consistently makes everyone feel seen and valued. Her genuine care and uplifting spirit are at the heart of a positive Catholic school environment. Her consistent communication, fairness, and encouragement have made a lasting difference in my child’s academic journey and character development this school year. Thank you for being such a powerful influence!

Mrs. Paulhus

We cannot express enough how deeply Mrs. Paulhus has influenced our daughter this year. As a new student at SMSH, she was welcomed with warmth, kindness, and encouragement. Under Mrs. Paulhus’s guidance, she has been given the opportunity to grow academically, build independence, and truly understand expectations—developing not only as a student but as a confident young girl.
